Understanding the Classification Tools

The Image Executive EDMS’s “magic” is born of the power and simplicity that its classification tools support. These tools are easily adaptable to straight forward “file folder” methods and to more complex function-oriented methods of classifying documents. Just as your organization must, the Electronic Document Management System will adapt and evolve.

Understanding the Security Tools

The Image Executive EDMS’s powerful security tools are guided by a two-word mantra: distributed control . Users are members of Groups; Groups allow access to Departments; and Departments allow access to Documents. These layered groupings allow a range of access flexibility. Each of the User Functions can be distributed on an individual basis. This preserves the integrity of the indexing system. For additional distributed control, Extended Access and Security Levels enable such potent actions as hiding, moving, or deleting Documents, Folders, and Attributes. 

Security Levels

1.    Security Levels allow a User to access Documents that have Security Levels equal to or lower than the User’s. 

Distribute Functions by Workstation  

In addition to distributing Functions by User, Functions can be distributed by workstation. A User might need access to Scan Documents, for example, but he or she does not need Scan Documents when signed-on at a viewing station not connected to a scanner.
