Executive Assistant® ReadMe: Retrieve and View a Document
To retrieve a Document:
- Click the View Documents button on the Main Menu.
- To search by Folder Name, follow these steps:
- Select the Folder Name option and enter your search criteria into the adjacent text box. Searches are not case sensitive. You can use the percent sign (%) as an explicit wildcard to match any characters before or in the middle of the search criteria you enter. All searches have an implicit trailing wildcard. Searching on "my", for example, would find a Folder named "My Folder" because the trailing wildcard matches " Folder" for you.
- Click the Search button.
- The Folder Name Search Results screen displays the Folders matching your search criteria and the Documents in those Folders. To switch Folders, simply click on another Folder. To view a Document within a Folder, simply click on its Description.
- To search by Document Description, follow these steps:
- Select the Document Description option and enter your search criteria into the adjacent text box. As above: searches are not case sensitive, the percent sign (%) acts as a wildcard, and the system searches with an implicit wildcard at the end of your search criteria. Searching on "%doc" would find a Document with the Description "My Document" because the explicit wildcard matches "My " and the implicit trailing wildcard matches "ument" for you.
- Click the Search button.
- The Document Description Search Results screen displays the Documents with Descriptions that match your search criteria. To switch Documents, simply click on another Description. To view a non-image file, select the Document and then select the Open item in the File menu.
- To search again, choose the Search menu item in the File menu.
