Executive Assistant® ReadMe: File a Document
To file a Document:
- Click the File Documents button on the Main Menu.
- Before filing a Document, you will need to create indices for the File Cabinet into which you have scanned Documents. Let’s start by creating a Folder.
- Open the New menu and select the Folder menu item.
- Enter a Last Name. The First Name field is optional.
- Click the Process button. Your new Folder has been created.
- Click the Close button to return to the main filing screen.
- In the Files in Queue list, select an item to file.
- In the Description text box, describe your Document or select a Description from the list of suggestions. A Description is a textual comment that describes the Document, such as "Water bill" or "Health certificate".
- Provide a Volume Name such as "Volume1" or select one from the list of suggestions. This information will be used in the event that you transfer your Documents to a CD for distribution or simply to free space on your hard drive.

- Select a Folder from the Available Folders list.
- Press the Save button.
