Available only to TIFF images, the Executive Assistant provides powerful tools for improving the quality of a scanned image. Select a filter and click the Filter Document button to filter the whole Document or right-click on a Thumbnail (see below) and select Filter Page to filter the page represented by the Thumbnail. Once a filter is applied, the Document should be compacted.
Dark borders can be inadvertently added when the original Document is smaller than the area scanned. This filter removes those borders.
This filter makes indistinct text easier to read by darkening and sharpening areas that appear as though they contain characters.
This filter straightens pages that may have been scanned in at an angle. Deskewing is not available on Document scanned using a flatbed.
This filter removes black circles that result from holes punched in the original Document. Only complete circles will be removed.
This filter converts black regions to white regions and white regions to black regions.
This filter removes lightly tinted backgrounds, such as those found in magazine callouts, captions, and graphics.
This filter removes lines that may have been added to a Document that produced an image of poor quality.
This filter removes blotches, darkened areas, and other visual "static". Note that text or other meaningful parts of an image may be removed as well.
This filter attempts to fill gaps where lines appear broken.
Each application of this filter permanently rotates an image by 90º.
This filter changes the Document's proportions to match those specified in the Options menu`s Set Page Size for Scale to .... Change this setting to specify a new height and width (in inches) to which the Executive Assistant will scale Documents when you apply this filter.
This filter smoothes jagged edges.
This filter reduces the Document's size to approximately one half of its original area, in pixels. Because the Document's resolution remains constant, applying the Shrink filter may cause some distortion to occur.
