Next, select the Options menu item within the Barcode menu.
Next, the Executive Assistant® loads the Barcode Options dialog. Click the Create New Barcode Profile button to proceed.
The Executive Assistant® loads the Define Barcode dialog.

The Executive Assistant® shows the coordinates of the Barcode region highlighted and selected above in the Region In Inches box.

The Executive Assistant® shows the Barcode's text value (the text beneath the Barcode, doc001 in the preceeding example) in the Barcode to Detect text box. If you intend this value or any one value to trigger a Document Break, make sure the Barcode to Detect text box contains the target value, as the Executive Assistant® inserts Document Breaks only when it detects this text value. See Option 3 in the Options section below.
In the Type in or Choose a Barcode Profile box, enter a name that describes the new Barcode Profile or choose one from the drop down list.
Click the Save Barcode Profile button and then the Close button to save the new Profile.

Option 1. Ignore Barcode
Select this option to make the Executive Assistant® take no actions when this Barcode Profile is recognized.
Option 2. Any Barcode in Defined Region Causes Document Break
Select this option to make the Executive Assistant® insert a Document Break whenever any Barcode is recognized. Successive files are enumerated as 0001.tif, 0002.tif, etc. or PrefixA0001.tif, PrefixA0002.tif, etc., using the prefix assigned to all newly scanned Documents.
Option 3. <Barcode Text Value> Barcode in Defined Region Causes Document Break Select this option to make the Executive Assistant® insert a Document Break only when this particular text value is detected. To choose from amongst all the text values defined in your Barcode Profiles, select the desired Profile in the Barcode Definition list. The Barcode text value will change with each selection.
Option 4. Detected Barcode Names the File
Select this option to make the Executive Assistant® create a Document break for each Barcode detected (similar to Option 2) and then name the resultant Document file <Barcode Text Value>.tif.
Other options include the following:

Click the Test Barcode button to display the Barcode text value of the selected Document.
Click the Apply Barcode Selection to Document button to process the current Document using the Barcode Profile selected in the Barcode Definition list. You might use this option on Documents that were scanned while using Option 1. Ignore Barcode.
Click the View Barcode Profile Settings button to display the Define Barcode dialog for the Barcode Profile selected in the Barcode Definition list.
